The Indians lifestyle was just like how everything was back in the day. The men hunted & were out out in the woods. Women would do all the cooking, sew clothes, and make all different types of tools that they needed, while tending to the children. The women also use to be in charge of all the constructing tipis and hauling wood and water to the campsite.


Tipis, tipis were used for specifically birth process. They are made from buffalo skins which are sewn together. This was the women's job to take care of. Also, in many clans the whole village/women took care of the children and all the women cared for all newborns and treated them as their own.



The plains people had a leadership/social structure life, and every nomadic group would have a band chief who were all supported. For example if the band could catch enough food, and were all protected by enemies.
The elders were the ones who made the decisions in a tribe and the chiefs were the ones who advised them. The leader had to be wise, and a patient leader who showed all qualities of good leadership and a good deal of wealth.

Sitting bull was a Teton Dakota Indian chief under the ones who are the Sioux tribes united in their difficult times for survival on the North America Great plains. Sitting Bull's first war party was when he was 14 years old. Sitting bull was always known and seen powerful. Sitting bull at a very young age was chosen as a leader of the strong heart society. He fought American soldiers after the battle of Killdeer Mountain, and took arms against the Americans for the first time in 1863. He overcame many other achievements which made him a powerful man.
