Spunky Princess Suzie
By Christina Demaskie

Once upon a time, there was a princess named Suzie.
She loved playing dress up and wore all things pink.

But Princess Suzie also loved to make mud pies and
chase after bugs.

One day, Princess Suzie's friends saw her playing in the
mud. "Why are you playing in the mud?" they asked.
"Because it is one of my favorite things to do," Princess
Suzie responded. "But you are a girl! You are not
supposed to play in the mud," Princess Suzie's friends
exclaimed. Princess Suzie felt embarrassed.

She went running back to the castle not knowing what
to think. She had always thought that it was okay to
play in the mud. Princess Suzie was sad and needed
someone to talk to.

Princess Suzie fled to her mother and father. She
told them about what had happened and asked
them what she should do. "Oh Suzie, just
because you are a girl, does not mean you
cannot play in the mud," her mother said.

Princess Suzie listened to her mother's advice. She
realized that she could love playing in the mud just
as much as she did playing dress up.
