Jamie and John had planned an exciting trip to the desert. “ Don't forget to bring snacks Jamie" said John.  They knew they needed to pack a lot of water for their adventure because it's hot. Deserts can get up to 130 degrees fahrenheit. They were most excited to see cacti. Finally the big day arrived! They grabbed their supplies, which were as heavy as an elephant, and climbed into the car. 

    When Jamie and John arrived in the desert, the first thing they did was look around. They knew the desert was very hot and dry. Then they set off, but they got distracted. After a while, Jamie began to wish they brought a map. John said, "I'm glad we didn't. Those things are hard to read." That's when they realized that they had also left GPS at the hotel. They were lost!      

Jamie and John looked around to see if there were any signs for where to go. Everything looked empty and deserted."It's only going to get darker when the sun goes down," said Jamie. With no camping, food, supplies and water they knew they were in trouble. "Im as hungry as a bear," moaned John. They wanted to go home, but they knew that the best thing to do was stay put and call for help.
