This book is dedicated to my teacher Ms. Zimmerman and all the kids who want to become authors.

It was early Monday morning when we all got the call from Ms. Gibbs to come to school right away. Me, Lucille, and Emma all rushed to our school. When we got there we found out we would all be going to the rainforest to learn about the food chain there. We were all as excited as five-year-olds on their birthday. With all our excitement we did not hear Ms. Gibbs when she said we left in one hour.
“I'm so excited, we are going to learn so much stuff!” Emma said
“I know the rainforest has four layers: emergent, canopy, understory, and forest floor, I wonder if we will explore them all!” I screamed maybe a little too loud.
As we were riding we saw toucans flying and monkeys swinging in the trees. We were all chattering nonstop. We were almost to the Rainforest Resort when we had to emergency land because of an engine malfunction. The helicopter hit the ground with a quiet, thunk, and an even quieter skirt.
“Welp guess we will have to walk I’ll go get the GPS tracker.” Said the pilot
and that's when out of nowhere a jaguar rose from the Bushes.
“Uh a jaguar is a Territory Consumer, where are we on the food chain? you don't think it would eat us, right?!”
“Uhm what are we supposed to do now?” Emma asked the piolet and she answerd with a loud but short,
“WE RUN.”
We were all running and had no idea where because all the GPS gear had been left back at the helicopter. We were all going bananas thinking we were gonna die. There were trees everywhere so it was very hard to see where we were going. Maybe if we had not been running for our lives we would have stopped to look at all the unique animals.
“It's caching up on us!” I screamed to my friends
“Fun fact kids, the rainforest is 2.1 million square miles wide hopefully we find the research center so we don't end up running that far.” the pilot said sarcastically.
We were all running with all our strength, so of course we were getting tiredU
