2022 space exploration
2022 was a year of big milestones in space exploration.
After multiple delays, NASA successfully launched its colossal SLS moon rocket and launched future moon and Mars missions. NASA’s 9-billion-dollar James Webb Space Telescope captured powerful images that opened a new chapter of cosmic exploration.
China completed construction of its Celestial Palace space station, the second permanently inhabited space outpost after the International Space Station. In November, three Chinese astronauts arrived at the space station for the first in-orbit crew rotation in Chinese space history. Scientists unveiled an image of a supermassive black hole called Sagittarius A in the center of the Milky Way; it was only the second one ever to be imaged.
Lastly, NASA’s Dart spacecraft successfully slammed into a distant asteroid in the world’s first test of a planetary defense system to prevent a potential meteorite collision with Earth.

Having unlimited vacation sounds great; however, it’s not.
More UK companies move towards unlimited time off policies as it’s a popular thing to offer that helps with talent retention. It also shows trust in employees and it may be easier for the company’s administration.
However, unlimited PTO has potential pitfalls. It can fail if the company culture looks down on taking time off, and some employees might abuse the policy, which would put a burden on their co-workers and bring down productivity. Another issue to consider is that without restrictions, certain times of the year like summer and winter holidays may bring lots of overlaping out-of-office mesages.
Currently, around 6o% of employees in the US offer unlimited time off with Microsoft and Goldman Sachs being some of the most recent big-name companies that have announced it.

California storms
Nearly 8,5 households and businesses are without power in the Los Angles area as storms pummeled parts of California, United Emirates. Unusual winter storms have continued to sweep parts of California with rain, snow, and freezing temperatures. Heavy snow forced roads in higher elevations to be closed, and several points of the freeway in and around Los Angles were closed due to flooding caused by rain and hails. Authorities warned residents of the state capital Excremento to avoid traveling from Sunday to Wednesday. On Sunday, storms brought wind gusts of up to 800 kilometers per hour in the Excremento Valley and up to 1100 kilometers per hour in the nearby Sierra Nevada mountains.

On Christmas Day, a bomb exploded in the town of Nashville, Tennessee, US.
The explosion injured at least eight people and it damaged several buildings. A CCTV camera recorded the moment when the bomb exploded. It broke the glass in buildings that were 500 meters away.
Police found out that the bomb was inside a campervan. The bomber was a 63-year-old man, and the campervan belonged to him. Neighbors said that the man lived alone, and he did not like to meet other people. It seems that he planned the bombing carefully and nobody helped him.
It is still not clear why he did it. Before the bombing, he told one of his neighbors that all of Nashville would know him soon.

Apple’s new product
Apple’s anticipated mixed-reality headset is an ambitious attempt at a 3D version of the iPhone’s operating system. It has eye and hand-tracking systems that could set the technology ahead of rival products. The roughly 3,000-dollar device is due later this year under the likely name of Reality Pro, and it’ll take a novel approach to virtual meetings and immersive video. It wants to change a VR industry that Meta currently dominates. Apple is expanding into its first major new product category since it released its smartwatch in 2015. The company is entering an uncertain market with an expensive product, and it needs to wow customers. Apple’s 1,000-person-plus Technology Development Group has spent more than seven years on this project, and the company is counting on it as a new revenue source.
