Rescue workers in the far east of Russia braved freezing waters to save four orcas, who were trapped between ice at 50–100 metres from the coastline.

They were stuck overnight, with the head of the region’s emergency ministry explaining that the waters are shallow and filled with stones.

The team of people took a small boat to reach the whales and moved the ice to create gaps that the whales could swim through. It took them several hours but three of the whales, including one calf, were freed. They stayed with the fourth orca, protecting it from the ice, until higher waters allowed it to join the others.

  Lion Cage in Australia

An Australian zoo unveiled its latest attraction – a cage that visitors can enter and interact with lions. They can even feed the predators through the metal wire of the cage.

The cage took 5 months and 700,000 Australian dollars (around 530,000 US dollars) to build. People expect it will generate an additional 3,000 visitors a year.

   Polar Bear in Autralia

 An Australian zoo has unveiled its latest  atraction – a cage where visitors can enter and interact with polar bears. They can even feed predators through the cage glass.

The cage tok 25 months and 70 Australlian dollars (about 53 US dollars) to build. People expect you to generate an additional 3 visittors a year.

A Wall Street Journal report suggested that the COVID-19 virus leaked from a lab, and US officials supported this idea.

But the World Health Organization said that it still was not clear where the virus came from. A team of WHO and Chinese experts said that the virus probably did not come from a lab and that it more probably came from wild animals.

WHO said that all options were still possible and that China had to provide more information. Until China is open and cooperates with experts, nobody can say where the virus came from.
