This is the story of Kuku the squirrel.
Kuku ate acorns every day in the forest.
(Exposition)

Winter was coming. Winter is when acorns stop falling, so squirrels must collect many acorns to eat throughout the winter (Featherstone).
But, Kuku only had one acorn. Kuku needed much more.
(Inciting Incident)

Kuku looked far and wide for acorns, but could not find any.
(Rising Action)

Kuku then found a river.
In the middle of the river, there was a rock. On the rock, there was an acorn! It was too far away to jump to, so Kuku needed a different way to reach it.
(Rising Action)

So, Kuku asked a beaver to help cut down a tree to make a bridge that would lead to the acorn, and the beaver did just that.

But, the tree was just carried away by the river. It could not be a bridge to the acorn.

Kuku wondered why the plan did not work.
The beaver told Kuku, "Your plan hurt nature too much. If you hurt nature, you did not use Wu Wei ("Wu-wei"). You need to use Wu Wei."

Wu Wei!
Kuku asked, "What is Wu Wei?" The beaver said, "Wu Wei is being friends with nature.
You hurt nature by cutting the tree, so things did not work . You must be friends with nature if you want things to work " (Bastos).
Now knowing Wu Wei, Kuku went to a place further back on the river.

Working with nature, Kuku jumped in the water, and was carried by the river to the rock . Kuku now had the acorn!

With the one Kuku already had, Kuku had two acorns now. Kuku then hid them in a hole in a tree.

Kuku went out to look for acorns for the day, but did not find any, because other squirrels took them.

When the day was over and Kuku came back to the tree hole, there was a surprise!
Kuku's two acorns were gone!
(Rising Action)

Kuku looked far and wide for who stole the acorns. Then, Kuku saw a woodpecker putting Kuku's two acorns in its own stash!
(Rising Action)

Kuku became very angry.
Kuku starting making a plan to steal all of that woodpecker's acorns, because bad animals do not deserve any acorns!

Kuku's Plan:
Steal back acorns while woodpecker is gone!
A fish swimming in the river saw Kuku making the plan.

Kuku's Plan:
Steal back acorns while woodpecker is gone!

The fish stopped and yelled at Kuku, "Stop making that evil plan!"
Seeing the fish, Kuku said, "But, I can't just let that woodpecker get away with stealing my acorns!"
(Rising Action)

Kuku's Plan:
Steal back acorns while woodpecker is gone!

The fish said, "You must be good to the woodpecker, even if it did something bad to you, because God made you both to be good" (Block).

Kuku and the wood-pecker ARE GOOD!
Kuku asked the fish, "You make no sense! If God made us both good, then why is that woodpecker bad?"

The fish said back, "That woodpecker is good, but only if are good to it first. God says that if you want the world to be nice, you must be nice first" (Kliger).

Be good to all, Kuku,
even the woodpecker!
"Fine!" said Kuku.
And Kuku went up to the woodpecker, and said to it, "Woodpecker, even though you stole all my acorns, I will be good to you and help you collect more acorns!"

The woodpecker was very surprised how Kuku was so kind, even though the woodpecker stole Kuku's two acorns.

The woodpecker said yes to Kuku, and the two went collecting acorns together.

With the woodpecker's eyes in the sky, and Kuku's big squirrel cheek pouches, they were able to find and collect many, many acorns!

After, they both put the acorns they collected in the woodpecker's stash. The woodpecker turned to Kuku.

The woodpecker said to Kuku, "I'm sorry for stealing your acorns. Even so, you were still so good and helped me today. To thank you, I will give you half of the acorns here, not just the two I stole from you."

Kuku was very happy. Kuku had almost enough acorns for winter now! Just like the fish said, being good to the woodpecker really did make it be good in turn to Kuku!
