It is said that the lion, the king of the forest and its strongest inhabitant, was one day asleep,
2

when a small mouse living in the forest itself started running around him,

3

jumping over him and making disturbing sounds, which disturbed the lion's sleep and prompted him to wake up.
4

And when the lion awoke from his sleep, he was angry, so he put his huge fist over the mouse,
5

and growled, opening his mouth, intending to swallow the little mouse in one morsel.
6

Then the mouse shouted in a voice trembling with fear, hoping that the lion would pardon him, and said:
7

“Forgive me this time, only this time and not another, O king of the jungle, and I promise you that I will not do this again,
8

and that I will not forget your kindness to me. And also, gentle lion, who knows? Maybe I can repay you one day.”
9

The lion laughed at what the mouse said, and asked with a laugh: “What favor can a small mouse like you do to a great lion like me?
10

And how can you help me when I am the lion king of the jungle and you are the weak little mouse?”
11

The lion decided to release the mouse just because he said to him what made him laugh,
12

so he lifted his fist from him and let him go about his business.
