(Exposition)
Ally was a very outgoing and friendly girl who loved to make new friends. However, Michael, a new student, was being teased and left out by the other kids at school.

(Conflict)
Ally was sad that Michael was being left out and bullied by the other kids. She really wanted to help Michael and be friends with him. He was timid so she wasn't sure how to approach him.

Ally's wise grandmother was known to give the best advice. Ally decided to ask her for help. After hearing her story about Michael, her grandmother suggested they go to the local town and talk to some of the townspeople.

I need some help

Their first stop was to the church. They met the pastor who invited them in. Inside, they saw an ongoing Bible study and worship program (Denova). Ally was so focused that she accidentally tripped and cut her knee. It was hurting so much that she cried. The pastor quickly ran up to Ally and asked if she was okay (Saxon). He comforted and helped Ally patch up her wounded knee. She gratefully thanked the pastor.
The pastor suggested they stay until Ally felt better, and even offered her apple juice. Ally didn't have much time so she kindly shook her head. On the way back to town, she thought about the pastor's kindness.

After thinking about what the pastor had done, Ally told her grandmother that she was still not sure how to talk to Michael. Ally's grandmother decided to take her to the Buddhist Temple where she could talk to the monks. At the temple, she saw the monks handing out free food to the passing people (Bodhi). The monks handed food out to everyone, even to the ones who dressed really nice (Bhikkhu). Her eyes were widened at his open-minded actions.
Ally was also surprised that the monks handed her food (Rahula). She turned to her grandmother and told her she was sure that she knew how to approach Michael.

On their way home, Ally's face dropped because she was not so sure she was ready to talk to Michael. Ally's grandmother suggested one last stop at the museum. They made their way to the Inca exhibit. As they looked around the exhibit Ally saw a young boy bowing to a picture ("Inca Civilization"). She was confused and asked the boy.
"This is my distant ancestor so I wanted to pay my respects. It is a common practice in my family," explained the boy in a well-mannered tone ("Inca Religion"). Ally thanked the boy for showing her about respect. As she walked back to her grandmother, her eyes lit up with excitement. She could not wait to go back to school.

(Climax)
The next day at school, Ally saw Michael being bullied by the other kids. She was so angry. She ran to defend Michael but half way there, she remembered the lessons she learned from the other day. As she stood in front of the bullies, she looked them in the eyes and told them they were being mean. She told them that they should be kind like the pastor from church, not judging like the monks from the Buddhist temple, and be respectful like the Incas ("Inca Religion"; Mark; Saxon). After hearing Ally's reasons, they all looked down on the floor and stayed quiet.
After a while, they slowly apologized. Ally happily accepted their apology and forgave them. Michael was very grateful and asked Ally to be his friend!
