Toltrele Prutului

The first thing I wrote is about the place Toltrele Prutului (or Stâncile Prutului are a chain of reef-type calcareous formations, scattered over a distance of about 200 km along the Middle Prut, in the Republic of Moldova. They start near Criva, in the area of the northern border of the country and continue to at Cobani, 200 km further south. Several of them are declared natural monuments and are protected by law. These chains of calcareous reefs are made up of fossils of corals, molluscs, shells, calcareous algae and other marine organisms that once populated tropical seas Tortonian and Sarmatian 10-20 million years ago.
