Geography and Famous Cities of Greece
Greece is a country of the Balkans, in Southeastern Europe, bordered to the north by Albania, North Macedonia and Bulgaria; to the east by Turkey, and is surrounded to the east by the Aegean Sea and to the west by the Ionian Sea. 80% of Greece is mountainous. The Pindus mountain range lies across the center of the country. The highest mountain of Greece is Olympus.

The country consists of many rivers, lakes and two peninsulas projecting from it: the Chalkidiki and the Peloponnese. Greece also has many islands, of various sizes, the largest being Crete, Euboea, Lesvos, Rhodes, Chios, Kefalonia, and Corfu. The longest river of Greece is Aliakmonas.

1-METEORA
The Greek town of Kalambaka is the rocky region Meteora here.
It is a place that means "hang in the air" and is used as if drawings in a fairy tale book, with rock blocks of 400-500 meters protruding from the ground and the monasteries resembling castles on them. UNESCO declared the countries of the world they live in in 1988.

2- RHODES OLD CITY
The medieval city of Rhodes in Greece was added to the World Heritage list by UNESCO in 1988.
The architectural and cultural heritage of the order, which was named the Knights of St. John, later the Knights of Rhodes, and later the Knights of Malta, can be seen in the center of the island, where it dominated for many years. Stony paths, gothic towers, exquisite churches, Kastelo castle and mansion, the center of the cult, Renaissance buildings added over time take visitors on a journey through time.
3- ACROPOLIS OF ATHENS
The first image that comes to everyone's mind when talking about Athens is probably the Parthenon on the Acropolis of Athens. The Acropolis (Acropolis) is located on one of the highest hills of the capital, Athens. The name meaning of this structure, which you can see from almost anywhere in the city, is “the city above”.
This building, visited by millions of tourists today, is also famous for its unique view.The Acropolis in Athens was recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1987.

Moussaka is covered in a creamy bechamel sauce with ground beef sautéed with fried eggplant, potatoes and tomato sauce.

Souvlaki is also known as the Greek kebab.
This kebab is served with pita pieces.

Horiatiki is a village salad. Prepared with tomato, cucumber, onion, olive, green paper, olive oil, thyme, salt, pepper and a slice of feta cheese.

ALKİ ZEİ
He is a Greek novelist and children’s books writer. He depicts the struggle of life and the terms of the era. His most important works are The Purple Umbrella and Achilles’ Fiancée.

HOMEROS
Homeros is a Greek poet who lived in the ancient ages. His works are considered as the foundational works of ancient Greek literature. His most important works are Illiad and Odyssey. He centres the wars of the Greeks and the Trojans in his works.
AESOP
Aesop is an ancient Greek storyteller who is assumed to live in the 6th century BCE. Many of the characters in his tales are animals who can speak. The most known works are The Fox and the Grapes and The Wolf and the Shepherds.
