KUMSAL'S STORY
Kumsal was living a peaceful life in the village with his family. She used to get up early in the morning, have breakfast with her family, go to school, spend time with her friends at school, and listen carefully to her teachers. After school, she would come straight home do her homework and help her family with the housework in the rest of her time. Her favorite job was helping her father to feed the animals. She loved her lambs so much that she would try to finish her homework just for this.
Time passed quickly and it was the time for Kumsal to start high school. The school she won was far from her village. That 's why Kumsal had to stay in the dormitory. She was both unhappy because she was away from her family, and she was happy so she won a good school and made new friends. Summer vacation was over and it was time to leave her family.
She went to school and settled in her dormitory, but she missed his home, family and village very much. Everything seemed artificial to her. Her favorite subject among the classes was science, because only in this class she felt at home. Her teacher was also very pleased with Kumsal's interest in the lesson. The little girl loved to experiment. One day, the science teacher gave Kumsal a book as a gift. The book was about energy saving. Kumsal was very happy for the gift. Her love for her teacher grew even more.
She is constantly reading her book. She enjoyed learning new things. Then the school closed and she returned to her home and her village. The first thing Kumsal did was turn off unnecessary light bulbs at home. Her mother couldn't understand at first, but she liked what Kumsal did. After that, while Kumsal's mother was washing dishes, she turned off the tap, so that the water would not flow unnecessarily.
She warned her brother while brushing his teeth not to waste water. Kumsal thought and gathered all family members so she could explain how to save energy. First of all, she talked about the book which her teacher gave her. She explained what was written there one by one to her family.
1) We should turn off unnecessary burning bulbs.
2) We should not waste water. Water is an insufficient resource that we do not use on a global basis.
3) We have to unplug the electrical devices, so there will be a serious reduction in our bills and the natural resources required for electricity production will be used less.
4) We should use renewable energy sources. For example, by using solar panels, we can produce electricity naturally without harming the environment.
5) We can obtain energy naturally by installing wind power plants in suitable places, by building dams on rivers, we can still obtain electricity naturally. We can also obtain electrical energy with hot water vapors emanating from individuals with fault lines.
By increasing the number of all of these, we can reduce the non-renewable energy resources that are very common in energy production, for example, we can reduce the use of energy resources that damage the environment such as coal consumption, oil and natural gas and nuclear energy. Besides, we should separate the wastes and we should recycle them like glass, plastic, paper.
In this way, we both prevent environmental pollution and save raw materials and energy used while producing them. Her family's eyes filled with tears as Kumsal explained this. They were proud of their daughter. They promised to pay attention to these issues.
Kumsal, of course, did not just stop there, she was constantly reading and researching, trying to teach everything she learned to her relatives. During the summer vacation, she constantly researched on this subject, read a lot of books, and when she returned to school, she was considered an expert on this subject. It was officially environmentally friendly. In fact, whenever Kumsal took a book, her friends would start calling her “Eco friendly student is reading a book”.
She was very pleased with this sentence, but Kumsal was trying to convince her friends to teach them something to change it. Her aim is Eco Friendly Students are Reading Books, not only a student.
