WILDLIFE IN THE AMAZON RAINFOREST
The Amazon Rainforest is a haven for wildlife, with an estimated 2.5 million insect species, tens of thousands of plant species, and over 2,000 bird and mammal species calling it home. Some of the most iconic animals found in the Amazon Rainforest include jaguars, sloths, anacondas, and capybaras.
However, there are many lesser-known but equally fascinating creatures that inhabit this unique ecosystem. The Amazon rain frog can change colors to blend into its surroundings, while the electric eel is capable of generating powerful electric shocks to deter predators.

TREES AND PLANTS IN THE AMAZON RAINFOREST
The Amazon Rainforest is home to an incredibly diverse array of plant species, many of which have evolved unique adaptations to survive in this challenging environment.
Another remarkable adaptation found in the Amazon Rainforest is the ability of some trees to produce buttress roots. These large, flared roots provide additional support and stability to the towering trees, which can grow up to 200 feet tall. Additionally, some trees have developed thorns and spines as a defense mechanism against herbivores, while others have evolved toxic compounds to deter predators.
