In a lush mountain, in the corner of Sweden, there lived a boy named Pele. Pele had a fat sheep with very thick fur. The sheep was named Popo. And Pele loves Popo very much. Every Sunday morning, Popo is washed by the river near his house until the wool is completely clean.
Day by day, his sheep's fur grew thicker, while the clothes Pele used began to not fit his body, which was now growing taller. This afternoon, as usual, Pele went to herd his favorite sheep, Popo. He let Popo go to look for the grass that grew well with the other sheep. While Pele sat on a large rock.
"Hey, Pele, look at my shirt, isn't it beautiful? This was a gift from my aunt who lives in the next village," said one of her friends proudly, showing off her new clothes. The boy's body was thin, his hair was yellow and his cheeks were red like a tomato. His name is John. And one of John's characteristics is a hat that always nestles on his red head.
Pele turned and noticed John's clothes. "Ah, that's great, John," said Pele, both pleased and envious. "I wish I had a dress like that too."
John looked at Pele. "Why don't you ask your mother? After all your clothes are already small."
"My mother doesn't have much money to buy clothes. That money could be better spent on milk, Anna."
"How about you make your own clothes out of Popo's fur?" offered John.
"Can you actually make clothes out of Popo's fur?" Pele's brow furrowed in disbelief.
"Of course, my mother used to make clothes for me with the fleece we had. I'll tell you how to make them later." John's story is enthusiastic.
"Okay, tomorrow I will bring Popo to your house," Pele replied happily.
The next day, Pele was getting ready to go to Jhon's house which was not far from his house while carrying Popo.
Jhon welcomed the arrival of his thin friend. "Welcome, Pele," he said with a smile, "are you ready?"
Pele nodded while Popo gulped with pleasure.Jhon took Pele and Popo to his Uncle's house
Uncle Thomas. "Good morning, Uncle Thomas, can you shear this sheep for my friend?" asked Jhon to the slender man who was sitting watching his cattle.
"oh, good morning, John" replied the man "fine, I'll shear your sheep, as long as you give my cattle a drink"
"All right, Uncle, I'll give your cattle a drink," said Pele happily as he headed for the well to draw water. Meanwhile Mr. Thomas started shaving Popo's hair.
After doing his job, Pele thanked him and together with Jhon they said goodbye and headed to Aunt Tanika's house who was good at spinning.
"Good afternoon, Aunt Tanika," greeted Jhon friendly to a petite 40-year-old woman who was busy picking various fruits in the garden beside her tiny house.
"Good afternoon, John!"
"Auntie, introduce him to my friend, his name is Pele and this sheep's name is Popo," said Jhon excitedly. "Pele wants Aunt to spin the fleece into yarn."
The woman nodded "All right, son, I'll spin your fleece, but only on condition that you two pick ripe lemons, oranges and carrots."
Pele and Jhon nodded, they were picking ripe fruit in Aunt Tanika's garden while Aunt Tanika started spinning the wool into yarn.
After picking the fruit, Aunt Tanika handed Pele the wool she had spun. Then Jhon invited Pele to go to Mrs. Malen's house to weave the thread into cloth.
"With pleasure, Pele, I'll weave it for you. But will you mind tending my sheep and getting some firewood for me tomorrow?"
And Pele agreed to Mrs Malen's request.
