The storms rolled.
Thunder rumbled a
frightening roar. Lightning
strikes fire in the sky.
1

Holding on to faith.
Whispering prayers.
Taking every second
getting through one by
one.
2

My focus being, " I'm here right
now. I just have to get through
NOW. Each second leading to
the next. Every second ahead
lies in the future. Seconds
passed is another second
survived."
3

Even in the loudest of storms,
there was peace. God filled my
heart with unearthly definable
peace.
4

There were times I could feel his
warm presence. Times that I
thought he had left me. During
those times of thought to be
abandoned I should have felt
alone, but faith was in my heart,
and God had already prepared
me for what's to come.
5

It was the time I thought he
was gone was my deepest
struggles. I remember the pain
as I could not move or lie
down.
6

There was a moment where I felt
torn down to the core. I no longer
could feel for earthly things. If I
was to die, I was ready to accept.
I didn't care anymore about the
pain,the uncertainties.
7

My earthly way of thinking
just seemed obtuse. This
was the moment I
surrendered all. It was a
peaceful moment. For I no
longer had to have all the
answers, no need for
control. I just surrendered
all.
8

And Just like a storm in the
sky. The clearing came. The
healing came. The light of
another new day shined upon
me. I was stronger than I have
ever been.
9

Surrendering all led to the only
heart longing for the things
that should matter. The people
that should matter.
10

I was torn down to the core. I
was rebuilt with new found
wisdom, courage, faith and
more happiness and
contentment that I could ever
have known.
11

I faced more storms just as the
weather cleared. I found it was
my struggles in these storms
that was to prepare me for
what I was to endure. So I
lived. I struggled.
12

I fought harder to win this
battle, not just against cancer
but for my spiritual self. Joy
did not escape me.
13

I had to hold onto seconds.
Each moment I looked for my
reason to smile, my reasons to
laugh, and I always found it.
