Pippo the Hippo was very hungry. 

Pippo the Hippo went in search of food. 

She swam past her family and went to the land. Then she walked and walked and walked.

Pippo the Hippo came across a worm wiggling in the dirt. 

"Excuse me worm, have you got any food I can eat?" Pippo the Hippo asked. 

"I have a yummy treat for you." Said Walter the  Worm. "The best food ever is dead leaves!" Walter the Worm said. 

"Yuck!" Said Pippo the fussy Hippo. 

Pippo kept walking. 

Pippo the even hungrier hippo saw a giraffe reaching her neck high in the sky. 

"Excuse me, giraffe, have you got any food I can eat?" Pippo the hungry Hippo asked. 

"Yes." Said Grace the Giraffe. "I love to eat fresh leaves!"

"Yuck!" Said Pippo the fussy, hungry Hippo. 

Pippo kept walking until she came to a monkey swinging from the trees. 

"Excuse me, monkey, have you got any food I can eat?" Pippo the hungry Hippo asked. 

"Yes! I love to eat bananas!" Said Molly the Monkey. 

"Yum!" Said Pippo the Hippo, who ate twenty bananas. 

"Thank you, Molly the Monkey!" Pippo said and she waved goodbye. 

With her tummy now full, Pippo walked back home to her family.
