the story of us

Her parents got engaged then married.  And 3 years later they moved into a little home in Hawaii.  And they were going to adopt a little baby girl they had been fostering for 10 months. 

She had wanted to adopt since forever and now her dreams were true. Their daughter's name was Leailani Kate...

Chapter 2

all to well 

Leali has it all she is in love and she lives in the prettiest house and has the best parents or does she….

When her dad had a heart attack in the middle of the night she didn't know what to do. Her mom had got in the ambulance without saying a word to Leali. They had taken him to the nearest hospital which was nearly 30 miles away. 

Leali sat on the front porch steps for what seemed like 5 minutes but in reality it had been an hour. 

She then got up and called her boyfriend. He asked her what was wrong and after she told him he said he’d come over. It was 5 in the morning and when Kai (her boyfriend) got to her house He suggested they go for a swim. 

She ran upstairs and threw on her bikini and an oversized shirt and hopped in Kai’s  jeep. The sunset was beautiful.

She heard her phone ringing from the beach. 

She answered the phone to her mom crying…

  “Leali your father has had a major heart attack and they are careflighting him to New York for better care.”

 Leali was shaken. 

“Ok mom, But are you going?”

“Yes…Leali I need you to stay at the house ok…and be..strong we all need it ok?”

“Ok”....

She said ILY and hung up…

She told Kai everything and he asked her if she wanted to go back to her house. She didn't want to…but she knew she would want some pjs and other necessities if she stayed somewhere else. 

She quickly went into her room and grabbed her pjs and packed a bag with some other clothes.

When she got out to the car Kai was sitting on the passenger side. 

Leali was confused. 

Kai looked at her and laughed “I rented us a “BEACH” HOUSE!!!!” 

Leali cried and she shook with laughter.

A few weeks ago at school she had told him how much she wanted to stay ON THE BEACH.

He laughed and said someday.

Her house was only 5 miles from the beach but everyone made fun of her saying is your house not close enough?

She loved it!

When they arrived she called her mom and checked in. Her mom said it was all going good. 

Kai asked her if they wanted to go to a swim.

She agreed and told him that she'd be out in a minute.  

When she got down to the beach Kai was out surfing.

 She waved him down and told him she wanted to go out to the farmers market. 

They finished swimming and ran up to the car.

 Leali had on jean shorts and a big floppy t-shirt over her swimsuit Kai was shirtless.

 Realizing that he needed a shirt. He ran back into the house to grab one. 

She googled how ro get to the farmers market fastest from their beach house. They were driving as the sun was rising and listening to Taylor Swift.

Leali was looking out the window when she noticed a sign up ahead that read free puppies.

 She told Kai to stop the car when they got closer. He knew that she had alway wanted a dog of her own.
