What is global warming?
Global warming is the long-term heating of Earth's surface observed since the pre-industrial period (between 1850 and 1900) due to human activities, primarily fossil fuel burning, which increases heat-trapping greenhouse gas levels in Earth's atmosphere. This term is not interchangeable with the term "climate change."

Nitrogen di oxide (N2O): Cut-off during agriculture, land use, industrial activities, combustion of fossil fuels and solid waste, as well as treatment of wastewater.
Methane (CH4): Although methane, released during the production and transportation of coal, natural gas and oil, remains in the atmosphere for a much shorter time than carbon dioxide, it is much stronger in terms of greenhouse effect. When compared under equal conditions, its effect on global warming is 25 times greater than the effect of carbon dioxide in a 100-year period. It accounts for approximately 16 percent of human-caused greenhouse gas emissions globally.
Carbon dioxide (CO2): Carbon dioxide accounts for approximately 76 percent of global human-induced emissions; It is released into the atmosphere as a result of the burning of fossil fuels, solid waste, trees and other biological materials, as well as certain chemical reactions.
Greenhouse Gases that cause global warming
Nitrogen oxide (N2O): Cut-off during agriculture, land use, industrial activities, combustion of fossil fuels and solid waste, as well as treatment of wastewater.

What should we do to reduce carbon footprint?

* Turn off the lights when natural light is sufficient.
* Use your windows wisely!
* Cut down the number of appliances you are running .
* Use the stairs as often as possible. Elevators consume electricity.
* The less hot water you use, the less energy is needed to heat the water.
* Print and copy on two sides, save single-sided pages for notes, and print only what you need.
