To my mom who has always inspired me

Chapter 1

Once upon a time there was a talking frog named Bob. Bob lived in a lake with a lot of lily pads, so he could hop around. And he did that a lot. He met with a lot of other frogs, fish and ducks, but no one could understand him, since he did not croak like the other frogs do. 

Wheeeee!!!!!!

So Bob was very lonely. One day he said "I'm going to go look for a friend!", but Bob did not know where to start. He had stayed in this pond for seven lonely years. So he decided to stay right where he was, and wait until someone came to him. But his pond was deep in the forest. So no one came back there except hikers. But Bob had made his decision. He was just going to wait it out.

Wait, wait, wait. Still waiting.

Chapter 2

Bob waited three weeks straight, but no one ever came over to the pond. So Bob decided to explore a little. He hopped out of the pond and into the forest. The frogs croaked "No, do not go into that forest!!! Those who go in never come out!!!!" But Bob did not speak frog, so he hopped into the forest.

See ya!!

"It's my great aunt Gilda all over again!" one frog croaked. Bob hopped into the forest not knowing the dangers that would come.

Croak! Nooooo!!!!!!!

Bob hopped merrily along the forest path. " I wonder what beautiful things are in the forest?" he said, as he hopped along, not knowing the jaguar was behind the bushes. And he was very hungry.

Chapter 3

So beautiful!

Grrrrrr.....

Bob heard some growling from inside the bushes. "Who is it?" he said as he turned around. But all he could hear was the rustling of the forest leaves. Bob thought it was all in his head and continued hopping. But this time he heard leaves crunching. He turned around and there was a hungry jaguar!!! The big cat growled, and tried to swipe at Bob, but he quickly hopped out of the way. Then he started to run away, but was not very fast, so the jaguar caught up with him. Bob thought this was the end..

Goodbye cruel world!!!!

Chapter 4

Bob was cornered and did not know what to do. But then... when the jaguar stepped into a pile of leaves, it's foot fell into a deep hole! "Jungle traps! Of course I forgot all about them!" Jungle traps are supposedly fake, but they are real. It became a thing when cavemen set up traps around their home for protection, and food. And there are meant to still be a few left. And there are.

Phew!

" I never knew jungle traps could be so useful.", Bob said. He continued to hop along for a very long time. Almost 3  hours. And he had to stop for water a lot. And when a predator came by, he just hopped in front of what looked like a jungle trap, and the predator got all tied up! "Why didn't I think of that before??", Bob said. He hopped and hopped until he came to a village.

Grrrr....

It was a very small village with only five houses. Beside a house, there was a little girl sitting beside a tree reading a book. There was a dog next to her. It was a brown dog with floppy ears. Bob tried to be as quiet as he could, so the dog wouldn't chase after him. But he stepped on a twig. It snapped sending the dog chasing after Bob!

Ruff!!

"Missy!" the little girl cried and started chasing after her dog. They all ran ( and hopped ) into the forest. Bob hopping away, Missy chasing Bob and the little girl chasing Missy. " Missy, Missy!" the little girl kept calling. But Missy had already ran back to the house. So there was no point calling for her. "Missy..." the little girl said voice breaking. It was very sad.

"crying"

Oh dear!

Chapter 5

Bob decided to say something to the little girl, who was leaning up against a tree crying. Bob emerged from the bush he was hiding behind, and hopped up to the little girl. " Hey little guy. Are you lost too?",the little girl said to Bob." Don't worry."

Hey little guy....

" We'll get through this together." "Yes we will.", Bob said, who was waiting for the right time to speak. "AAAHHH!!!" the little girl screamed, and ran away. But she didn't get to far, until she screamed again. In front of her was a big, hungry jaguar! "AAAAHHH!!!" she screamed again, running in the other direction. Bob hopped after her, and just as the jaguar began to swipe, Bob called "Hey! Over here!

"Gulp"

The jaguar turned around and started chasing after Bob. "Oh no!" the little girl said and ran after them. Bob hopped over to what looked like a jungle trap, and when the jaguar tried to eat Bob, it fell into a hole. "Oh my." ,the little girl said in astonishment. "You saved my life." "You're welcome.",  Bob said and hopped over to the little girl. "What's your name?" ,she asked. "Bob." Bob replied, and let the little girl pick him up. "What's yours?" "Annie.", Annie said. And they talked a little bit about themselves, and then each of them felt a little better.
