To my wonderful younger sisters, Kesslyn and Kynlea, and to my encouraging older sister, Kalliope. 

One night, Kesslyn said "Mommy. I don't want to go to bed."  "I know sweetie, but you have to so that you can be well-rested for school tomorrow." replied Kesslyn's Mom. "Mommy. I don't want to go to school tomorrow. I want to go to school now!" said Kynlea. "I know Kynlea, but you have to wait until the morning" replied Kynlea's Mom. "Good night girls, sweet dreams!" Their mom continued. "Goodnight Mommy!" said Kesslyn "I love you Momma" said Kynlea.

The next day at school in french class, Mrs. Gillson asked Kesslyn a question: "Kesslyn, quand est votre anniversaire?"* "Mon anniversaire est le 15 novembre"** Kesslyn replied. After working for about one hour and thirty minutes, Keslyn's class started getting ready for recess.

* When is your Birthday ?

** My birthday is November 15.

At recess, Kamryn and Kynlea walked over to Kesslyn. "Kesslyn, are you excited for your Birthday tomorrow?" asked Kynlea. "No. I do not want to grow up. I want to play with dolls, I want to play board games, I want to do gymnastics, I want to be a kid!" Kesslyn exclaimed.

"I want you to know that growing up is not easy, but no matter how old you are, you can always play with dolls, and use imagination, you can do gymnastics, and you can always share your bright ideas! You know why? Because we are human!" Kamryn explained. 

During dinner, their mom said to Kesslyn: "So, are you excited about your birthday party tomorrow?" "No. I do not want to grow up. I want to be a kid forever!" Kesslyn replied sadly. "I will take your Birthday for you!" suggested Kynlea. "It doesn't work like that, sweetheart." their mom explained. "Awww" Kynlea cried. "I am sorry you do not want to grow up. but you have to." added their dad.
