So he dug and he dug and planted himself in covered in dirt waiting for a sprout to begin.

The grass pointed and mocked: "What are you doing you dumb silly rock?"

"I planted myself in to become a tree you will see" 

- the rock answered with some glee but the grass laughed and laughed and said: "that will never be."

The rock sat in the ground, sad in the dirt and a little bit hurt.

Later that day, he heard singing from the sky, and he saw a bird way up high. Her songs filled the air and land.

"I am quiet and ordinarily bland, surely it must be that a bird is far better than me"

          - the rock said.

So he gathered the courage and climbed up a spot and took a deep breath to show the world what he's got out in the open, he bolted a song, but sadly and badly his song was just wrong.

He managed to scare all 

the 

bears, the bunnies and bees away.

All the commotion made him drop, hitting every edge on his flippity flop drop.

After a while, he saw beautiful fishes swimming below, red ones, blue ones, and even stripped ones. The school of fishes swam through the water fast and with ease.

"A fish! I could be a fish, it's far better than me" 

- the rock said.

And so he rumbled and tumbled to the edge in a flash and fell in the pond with a big clumsy splash, he struggled to swim on his own but only went one direction and sunk like a stone.

From the bottom of the pond he layed looking up at the fishes as they played. Surely he thought that being a fish is far better than me.

And so, he dragged himself out of the mud in a rage, the anger building up inside him like a cage. Surely, he said that anything is far better than me.

Then a voice from above sounded below that echoed of kindness and of love to comfort his woe: " I watched as you struggled and labored trying to be those others you favored".

"First you wish to be a tree, do you remember that this only got you mocked and laughed at. Followed by a bird it was, but you managed to scare every animal away. Finally, to be a fish you took a big dunk which only left you angry, upset, and sunk".

"Little rock, little rock please can't you see that being a rock is the best thing you can be. You looked into the world and saw only what you were missing, never once looking at all the gifts you've been given."

"When the earth was created, you were there to see steady and solid forever you will be. All the gems, rubies and diamonds come from your family, your brethren, your kind." 

"Houses and cities are built with your strength, if they ever want to survive for any bit of length."

"And when the children came, did you noticed that they each climbed on your back for the apples to reach."

"And for those who were tired traveled and weak where else did they sit for rest they seek."

"All the artwork, the sculptures, the history, they would have been lost if you were never created. If we try to be like everyone else, 

it would be such a shame, because then, everyone would just be, the same."
