Heroes can be anybody who wants to make the world a better place. It does not matter how big and strong you are, all that matters is how big your heart is.
One example of a hero is Frank Emi.

Frank Emi was a Japanese-American civil rights activist born on September 23, 1916 in Los Angeles, California.
Frank Emi is one of the top people of the Heart Mountain Fair Play Committe.
The Heart Mountain Fair Play Committee was a group in 1943 to go against the draft of Nisei. Nisei are U.S. citizens born to Japanese immigrant parents.
The people in this group fought against forcibly moving Japanese Americans to camps during World War II against their will.
The U.S. government made a decision named Executive Order 9066. This order forced Japanese people to leave their homes on the West Coast and live in special camps. The U.S. government was worried that the Japanese could be dangerous, yet most of them were innocent people.
This order was cruel and not fair, a lot of families had to leave everything behind and live in these camps.
This is where our hero Frank Emi tries to save everybody. Frank and his friends refused to let the government force their family and friends into camps.
The government wanted Frank and his friends to go to war and asked questions to see if they were loyal to the U.S. Frank didn't want to fight for the U.S. since they treated him bad and didn't want to be seen as unloyal to his country.
Frank and his friends were arrested and faced imprisonment. Frank Emi was charged with offenses such as draft resistance, as well as violations of loyalty and security regulations. Frank was convicted of conspiracy and faced time in prison for being a key figure in organizing resistance against the internment.
Frank and others stood against what they thought was unfair treatment and fought for their rights.
