Magma is molten material beneath the earths 

crust. It is usually located in the magma 

chamber. When it reaches the surface the 

magma turns into Lava. Lava is the stuff that 

comes out of a volcano. 

The plate boundaries involved with volcanoes 

are convergent and divergent boundaries. 

When a oceanic plate and a continental plate 

come together in a convergent boundary the 

oceanic plate sinks under the continental plate. 

when the oceanic plate sinks it is melting and 

magma is formed. When plate diverge new 

oceanic crust is formed when magma cools 

down.
