VAISAKHI
By Siratpreet Kaur Ryatt

History of the festival Vaisakhi has been a harvest festival in Punjab an area of northern India for a long time, even before it became so important to Sikhs. In 1699, Guru Gobind Singh chose the festival as the moment to establish the Khalsa that's the collective name given to Sikhs who've been baptised.
Hi my name is Sirat! You might see what I’m wearing right now, dose not look like what other people wear but it’s called a suit! We wear these on special occasions like Diwali etc, In India we can wear it everyday! But today it’s because of VAISAKHI!
On Vaisakhi we go to the Guruwara to pray, we go in side and go sit down and pray calmly and peacefully it feels so calm, afterwards we go to the lunger hall which we get food from we don’t have to pay it’s free food to make people full and keep the happy.
Giddha and Bhangra is a Punjabi dance it’s known for its very active moves and how cool it looks most girls do Giddha and most boys do Bhangra. It’s ok if we do the opposite of that like me I love Giddha and Bhangra!
