Boeing
First, a little bit of history.

Boeing

Its July, 1916...
a game-changing company emerged in the aviation industry, known as Pacific Aero Products Co. Just a year later, it underwent a transformation and became Boeing Airplane Co., a name that has since become synonymous with excellence in aircraft manufacturing. As the United States entered World War I, the military had a pressing need for naval training planes to prepare their personnel. Recognizing this opportunity, Boeing swiftly delivered two state-of-the-art Model Cs to the naval base in Pensacola, Florida. The Navy was not only incredibly impressed but also recognized the company's ability to deliver outstanding aircraft, leading them to place a subsequent order for a whopping 50 additional planes. This early success cemented Boeing's position in the aviation industry and laid the foundation for its future endeavors.
With safety as their foremost concern, Boeing primarily focused on crafting exceptional seaplanes during this time. They understood the critical role that safety played in aviation and ensured that it was at the forefront of their engineering and manufacturing processes. As the war concluded, Boeing astutely ventured into producing planes for civilian use, marking the beginning of their journey towards becoming a renowned name in commercial aviation. Yet, despite the company's evolution and expansion over the years, one thing has remained constant - their unwavering commitment to safety. Boeing's dedication to prioritizing safety in their aircraft has been a hallmark of their success, maintainingtheir reputation as pioneers in the industry. Today, Boeing continues to innovate and deliver exceptional planes, ensuring that safety remains a core value that guides their every endeavor.

Airbus

In 1970, Airbus embarked on a remarkable collaboration between French and German aerospace companies, with the addition of Spanish and British partners. This collaboration aimed to fill a market gap for mid-range, spacious and stylish jetliners, challenging the dominance of American manufacturers. The introduction of their pioneering aircraft, the A300, in 1974 revolutionised air travel with its sleek design and unrivalled passenger experience. However, Airbus didn't stop there; they continued to innovate and create a series of awe-inspiring airplanes, continually raising the bar in
the aviation industry. Today, Airbus is a major global player, offering a diverse range of aircraft including the renowned A320 family and the iconic A380. So, the next time you step on board an Airbus plane, remember the incredible journey of a group of European visionaries who fearlessly challenged the status quo and succeeded in transforming the world of air travel. Cheers to Airbus and their game-changing creations!
First,
Appearances
Boeing aeroplanes often have a very pronounced nose shape, but it's not just for looks. Boeing says it is so that the planes can support many cockpit arrangements. Airbus planes have a more streamlined nose shape, which improves aerodynamic efficiency.

Another sure-fire way to spot a Boeing is the eye brow windows - just above the cockpit. Pretty unique. Just needs a smile!

This time, you're spotting an Airbus. If you pay close attention, you can see the landing gear is very different. Boeing aircraft feature four wheels on each main landing gear assembly (but sometimes 2), whereas Airbus aircraft have only two wheels.

Another thing to look at is the height of the tail. Boeing's often have higher tails, for stability during takeoff, however a lower tail is on Airbuses, all in the name of aerodynamic efficiency.

Now these differences aren't just for show. They show a delicate story of these two manufacturers. They show whats important to them, and what they think is the best way to make planes.
Boeing is all about flexibility and adaptability, and that's why they take a more modular approach.
Airbus on the other hand, Airbus keeps aerodynamic efficiency, and takes a more simple cockpit design as a better one.
