Once upon a time..... This is how fairy 

tales start, this is no fairy tale. This is a 

story of how three girls changed the fate of 

many people in their village.

Let's start from the beginning!

It all started in the village of Salem. In Salem, it is 

mostly Puritans. This religion believed that they could 

have religious freedom and no one else could.

This is where we meet Emily and her village. 

Emily is 16 years old and lives in Salem, 

Massachusetts, and had no idea that her life 

would never be the same after one day with 

her friends.

One day, after playing in the woods, Emily and her 

friends ran into the town saying that they had been 

possessed by the devil. They then told the town"we 

know that there are some people here in our village 

that are witch's."

     The girls meet with the town council. During this 

meeting they told the council who was the witch's in 

town. 

     "The older women next door to my family is a 

witch, as well as the women that runs the 

apothecary," Emily told the council.

       After Emily and her friends accused women in 

the town of being witch's, the whole town went into 

hysteria. This was the start of something big!

The next morning the village had found that 

four women were in the jail. With this the 

rumors and accusations begin.

Emily and her friends had started something that 

they did not mean to start. With the start of the 

hysteria, no one was safe. Families were blaming 

each other, neighbors were blaming neighbors, 

and friends were blaming friends. 

With the jails filling up the town council began to 

have trials to see if the men and women that 

were being accused of witchcraft were innocent 

or guilty.
