This week, it looks like there are going to be lots of weather changes! Mila wants to be a meteorologist one day, so this will be a fun experience for her!

Hi, I'm Mila! I can't wait to do all the meteorologist things! Ya'll come along and be meteorologists with me!
It looks like storm clouds are rolling in. It's a good thing Mila brought her rain gauge to measure how much it rains.

Where should I put the rain gauge? Will you help me pick a spot on the ground?

I found a great place to put the rain gauge! Thanks for your help!
The rain is starting to get heavy! Mila should put the rain gauge in the ground and come back later to see how much rain it collects!

I should really go inside now, the storm is picking up! Let's come back tomorrow and see how much it rained on Monday!
Mila is going to go home and come back on Monday to check the rain gauge. It looks like it is going to rain Monday and Tuesday, so Mila will have to do some math to figure out how much it rained each day.

Mila is back to observe how much precipitation there was on Monday. After she writes down the data she collects for Monday, Mila will go home and come back again on Tuesday.

Wow! That is a lot of rain we collected! The rain gauge shows 2 inches of rain. Let's come back tomorrow to see how much rain we have all together.

It is Tuesday now and Mila is back to see how much more rain is in the rain gauge. She will have to do some subtraction to figure out the difference from Monday to Tuesday. She will record the results in her notebook.

The rain gauge shows 8 inches. What is the difference between 8 and 2? The difference between the amount of rain on Monday and Tuesday is 6 inches!

There is a cold front coming in and the weather forecast says it will snow on Thursday and Friday.
Should we measure the snow like we did the rain? This time, we will use a ruler to measure instead of a rain gauge.
Mila has already made her way to the snow and is going to measure how much it has snowed on Thursday. She will come back again tomorrow and see how much more it has snowed.

Hey I'm down here!! It has already snowed a lot today. Let's pull out our ruler and measure how much! It says it is 3 inches deep.
