Green energyis any energy type that is generated from natural resources, such as sunlight, wind or water. It often comes from renewable energy sources.
Green energy often comes from renewable energy technologies such as solar energy, wind energy, geothermal energy, biomass and hidroeletric power.

In order to be deemed green energy, a resource can´t produce pollution.
The main resources are:
1. Solar energy;
2. Wind energy;
3. Hydropower;
4. Geothermal energy;
5. Biomass;
6. Biofuels.

1. Solar energy
Cells photovoltaic capture sunlight and turn it into electricity.

2. Wind energy
Wind energy uses the power of the flow of air to push turbines that then generate electricity.

3. Hydropower (including tidal energy, which uses ocean energy from the tides in the sea).
The hydropower uses the flow of water in rivers, streams, dams or elsewhere to produce electricity.

4. Geothermal energy
Green power that uses thermal energy that has been stored just under the Earth´s crust.
The energy stone under the United States is enough to produce 10 times as much electricity as coal currently can.

5. Biomass
Biomass power plants use wood waste, sawdust and combustible organic agricultur waste to create energy. While the burning of the materials releases greenhouse gas these emissions are still from petroleum- based fuels.

6. Biofuels
Having supplied just 2,7% of the world´s fuel for transport in 2010, the biofuel are estimated to have the capacity to meet over 25% of global transportation fuel demand by 2050.

There is a difference between green, clear and renewable energy.
Green energy is that which comes from natural sources, suchas the sun.
Clear energy are those types which don´t release pollutants into the air.
Renewable energy comes from sources that are constantly being replenished such as hydropower, windpower or solar energy.
