This document stopped all colonists from
settling west of the Appalachian Mountains. The colonists were
very angry because they believed they should be allowed to
settle in the Ohio River Valley. The British kept soldiers in the
colonies to enforce the law. This law was made to prevent more
Indian attacks.

This act forced colonists to buy tea only from the British. The colonists
were upset and they boycotted tea, they refused to sell the tea, they
refused to unload the tea from the British ships, and this led to the Boston
Tea Party. The Boston Tea Party was when the colonists dumped the tea
into the Boston Harbor. The British were angry and they sent in
more troops.

allow soldiers to stay in their homes and feed the soldiers of Britain. The British
created this act because the soldiers needed homes and food, and the government
didn't want to pay for it. The British leaders also believed that the settlers owed
them money in return for protection, and this was how the colonists had to pay
their debts. The settlers did not like this act because of the standing British armies
and the cost of housing soldiers.

This act taxed anything on paper by requiring stamps or a seal. The
government made this act to protect the colonists and to pay off the
debt of the French and Indian War. This made the colonists resent the
British government. The colonists were angry so they protested and
boycotted. The British were fed up with all the protests, so they repealed
the Stamp Act.

These acts made colonists pay taxes on things like tea, glass,
paper, and other similar items. The British government created
these acts to make more money after the French and Indian War.
The colonists were unhappy with the acts and boycotted the
buying of many of these products. Certain groups such as the
Daughters of Liberty created substitutes for these products. Britain
eventually repealed many of the taxes, but left the tea tax.

occured in one of the colonies and was started when a colonist and a soldier got
into an argument. Eventually, more soldiers and settlers joined the fight, and five
colonists were killed. This became known as the Boston Massacre throughout the
colonies. The colonists saw this as proof of Britain's cruelty and used it to get other
groups on their side. Britain made sure that the soldiers were given a fair trial, but
was all that they could do. This was one of the first acts of violence that sparked a
flame in the colonies and led to a revolution.

the colonies disagreed with. They didn't agree with what
Britain was doing to try to protect them. They got upset
and it sparked a revolution in them. I would rebel against
Britain if they made laws I didn't like too. The colonists
also didn't like that there were a lot of soldiers in the
colonies, and they were upset at Britain about that too.
If I were a colonist I would be upset about soldiers invading
in the colony.
