There were many causes to the 

American Revolution, today i 

will teach you 6 of them!

The first cause of the American 

revolution was the stamp act..The stamp 

act is when the British taxed paper 

products so colonists had to buy a 

stamp. The colonists began to make 

their own goods, in conclusion the 

british eventually repealed the act.

The Quartering Act was when soldiers were 

around to make sure nothing bad was 

happening (after the Stamp Act) and this 

required soldiers to stay in your house, which 

you had to feed and supply, and this made the 

colonists very angry but the British considered 

it as "protection for the colonists".

The Townshend Acts were where 

colonists had to pay taxes on 

imported things, the colonists 

didn't like this acts so they began 

to boycott, or make their own, 

goods. The British decided to 

repeal the act and they started to 

remove the taxes; they took off 

the taxes on everything except tea

The Tea Act was where they were trying 

to reduce the amount of tea held by the 

British. The colonists were upset and 

started the boston tea party. The British 

dumped all of the colonists tea in the 

harbor as punishment.

The Intolerable Act was a punishment for the 

Boston Tea Party. Because of this, colonists 

stopped trade between Boston and Britain. 

This resulted in Boston getting more support 

because they received goods.

I think the Americans declared 

independence from Great Britain 

because they were tired of all the taxing, 

living with soldiers, etc. The British 

could have avoided this by simply not 

creating outrageous rules for the 

colonists
