Chapter 1:

     Daisy

Daisy was a pug who loved to play inside all day. She played with her owners, her toys, and herself. Mostly, she loved to play. Daisy lived in New York City, where the buildings were huge. Everyday, after breakfast, she and her owners took a walk around the city. They saw all sorts of things. Pigeons, shops, other dogs, you name it! Daisy and her owners would go by the dog shop and get Daisy a treat. Then, when they got home, Daisy would lie in her dog bed and take a nap.

On most days, Sally would go to school and Hope would go to work. But it was summer, so both girls stayed home with Daisy. One morning, Sally asked if she could walk Daisy around the block. Hope said yes. Daisy was excited to be walked! Sally grabbed her coat and walked out the door with Daisy. On the way, Sally and Daisy met Mr. Keith with his mutt. Sally waved hello and walked passed by. It was cold today and freezing. As soon as Daisy and Sally came home. They found a missing poster. It said, " Missing: Lovely The Terrier. Please find him." Daisy and Sally looked at each other. They looked for Lovely everywhere. Sally and Daisy were tired. They sat on a bench and under was Lovely. They gave Lovely to his owner and walked home.

Chapter 2: Rex

Rex was a husky who loved the snow. He'd play in it all day. Rex loved his brothers and sisters. He lives in Alaska, where snow is fun! Rex makes snow dogs with his owner and family. It gets cold in Alaska, so Rex can't be out there too long. Rex likes to chew on bones. He can go through 5 a day! Rex is the oldest in his family. He is bigger than anyone! Rex is very polite. He brings things to his owner when his owner needs that thing. After the day, Rex snuggles with his family and sleeps in the snow.

Today was Rex's birthday. His family had been planning for months. One of Rex's sisters said that Rex should stay in the snow. Rex stayed in the snow. It started to get cold out, but Rex remembered what his sister said. Now, one of his brothers came out. In his brother's mouth was a sweater. Rex grabbed the sweater and stayed in the snow. Finally, his owner, Joseph came out and said to come in. When Joseph opened the door, he said, "Happy birthday Rex!" Rex was so surprised! He hasn't had a birthday like this before! They played games and ate birthday treats! When it was present time, Rex got a big bone. Then, he shared it with his family. This was the best birthday ever for Rex!
