Hi there - my name is Maria and I am going to walk you through my quinceañera.  A quinceañera is a special birthday celebrated by a Latina girl on her 15th Birthday - like an American "Sweet 16!"

Look at my dress! Traditionally, for a quinceañera, the birthday girl will wear a big dress for the occasion.

I also wore a beautiful tiara. The tiara symbolizes the beauty God holds in his eyes for me.

Here I am at the church ceremony. Quinceañera celebrations are very religious.  My family and godparents are inside.  I am going to say some of the readings I chose during the mass. After mass, we will head to my party!  My friends, family and neighbors will all be there too!

Meet my dad!  Him and I are going to do a father-daughter dance.  This is an important tradition for a quinceañera.

If you can't tell, I love the color pink - it's the theme of my party!
