Once upon a time, there was a blue bird named Birdie who lived in a magical forest. She enjoyed flying high in the sky and loved to sing songs all day long.

She was apart of a singing family and they would sing together every chance they got. They even put on concerts every weekend for all the forest to see.

One day, Birdie attended Ootie the Owl's birthday party. They played games, ate some yummy bird cake, and Birdie even got to sing a special song for Ootie. As she sang, she realized the sun was setting. This meant that it was time for her to head back home.

As Birdie was flying through the forest, she decided to take a walking break. On her way down from the sky, she accidentally flew into a big mushroom and hurt her wing. "Oh no!" Birdie cried. "How will I get home now?"

Birdie was sad and didn't know what to do. "Can someone please help me?" she cried. She tried to flap her wings, but the hurt one just wouldn’t work. As she sat there alone, Birdie wondered if she’d ever get home safely. Just then, she heard a soft flapping sound, much bigger than any bird's wings.

Birdie looked up and to her surprise, it was a magical flying dragon! He was as green as the forest leaves and had teeth as sharp as thorns. Although the dragon frightened her at first sight, he had kind eyes and a smile that didn't scare her away. "Hello there, little bird," said the dragon with a gentle voice. "My name is Peter. Are you okay?", He asked.
Birdie told Peter how she was on her way home from her friends birthday party and accidentally hurt her wing. "I was just trying to talk a walking break but now I’m stuck because I hurt my wing on the way down," Birdie said with a sigh.

Peter thought for a second, then smiled. "Don’t worry, ," he said. "I can help you! I can fly very high and very far. You can ride home on my back."

Birdie was so thrilled. "You would do that for me?", she asked. "Yes of course!" Peter replied. "Oh, thank you, Peter!" she chirped with relief. Peter lowered his wings, and Birdie carefully climbed onto his back. With a mighty flap, Peter soared high into the sky and zoomed over the tallest trees.

Birdie was so amazed at the sights of the forest that she started to sing! "La la la la, I will sing happy songs. I'm happy to be here traveling along." She had never flown so high up! She could see her nest in the distance, and it made her feel warm inside. Peter made sure Birdie was safe and comfortable as they flew through the sky.
