Once upon a time, there lived a girl and her grandpa.The girl and her grandpa loved to spend time together. They shared a lot of interests such as a love for life, history, and reading a great book. 

Unfortunatly the girl lived far away from her grandpa so she couldn't see him as much as she liked. She lived in California. Her grandpa lived in France. She was only able to see him every other summer. For summer 2016 this would be the last summer she sees him.

They spent the summer of 2016 doing everything they planned on doing. They visited every place they could think of and even climbed the steps to the Eiffel Tower. It was a summer she would never forget.

It was hard to say good bye. If only she knew what would happen next.

She would spend every Sunday like they planned, talking to him over the phone—every conversation like the rest. Until one day she didn't receive a call.

On November 23rd, 2016 early in the morning the phone rang. The girl's mother answered the phone and gasped. When she got off the phone she told the girl that they had to go to France. The little girl didn't know what was happening but decided just to do what she was told.

As the girl traveled back to France, she couldn't help but feel a bit of fear. What was going on?
