Matt and Jake were very close friends and their favorite holiday was Thanksgiving because they loved all of
the different food. They would eat till there was not a drop left
on their plates.

However, this Thanksgiving was going to be different because Jake'sfather had lost his job and the family did not have a lot of money.
The family was not going to be able to have a turkey and their
traditional Thanksgiving dinner.

Matt was sad to hear that his friend'sdad had lost his job and they would not
be able to have a Thanksgiving dinner. So, when Matt got
home he asked his mom if Jake's family could come over for
dinner.

Matt's mother said that she would love to have them over but they didn't have enough money to get food to feed
Jake and his family. They had only enough to feed Matt's
family.

Matt went to his room to think about what he could do to help Jake and his family. Matt remembered he had money, but he had been
saving all his money for a new toy that he wanted to buy from the store.

Matt decided that his friend and his family were more importantthan the toy he wanted, so he counted up all of his money to
bring to his mom so they would have enough to buy more food.

Matt went to his mother with his money and explained to herthat he wanted to use his money he had been saving to buy
more food so Jake and his family could eat with them.
