Once upon a time in the beautiful village of There, there lived a skilled weaver named Ritika.

One sunny morning, the village announced art competition for village festival. Ritika decided to weave a basket for the village festival. She wanted her basket to be perfectly balanced and beautifully patterned.

So, Ritika began her day by gathering colorful reeds. She counted each reed carefully. As she worked, she arranged the reeds in a pattern. She noticed that by repeating the same colors and shapes, she could create beautiful designs. This pattern was like a secret code in math!"

As Ritika continued, she made sure that each side of the basket was the same, so it looked perfect from every angle. This method of making each side of the basket same in Mathematics is called Symmetry. Symmetry means that one shape is identical to the other shape when it is moved, rotated, or flipped. Ritika successfully uses this math’s concept in making her basket look beautiful and balanced.

At the ends, Ritika a special tool called a measuring stick to make sure her basket was the right size. She measured the distance between each reed and the height of the basket. Ritika knew that math helped her make sure everything fit together just right."

The big day arrived and the festival begins with different cultural events and exhibition. There are people coming from nearby villages and filled with hustle of joys and laughter.

Ritika displayed her not only basket but collection of baskets in the art exhibition at the festival. Everyone was amazed at how beautiful and perfectly made it was. The pattern and balance of design was appreciated by the judges. She won the trophy for using mathematical concept of pattern and symmetry for successful weaving of her basket.
