Empanadas originate from Spain, and Portugal. They are a yummy treat that is usually filled with filling, but can also be filled with meat. They type of empanada that can symbolize my family are empanadas de Pina( pineapple), or salvadorean style empanadas de platano.

Empanada de Pina are often eaten as a treat for celebrations, or simply to share with your loved ones. Empanadas de Platano can be eaten as a breakfast item, or simply as a snack.
