In fairy tales we often see sweets.Since the New Year is approaching, and in Georgia, a New Year's table is unimaginable without Gozinaki, we asked Little Red Riding Hood for help, and here she is, preparing it for us.

HOW TO MAKE
Prepare the Walnuts: Chop the walnuts into small pieces (not too small—you want to keep some crunch!).
Heat the Honey: Pour the honey into a small pot and heat it on low. Let it cook for about 10 minutes until it gets thick and turns a dark golden color.
Add Walnuts: Carefully stir the chopped walnuts into the hot honey until all the nuts are coated in honey.
Shape the Candy: Pour the honey and walnut mix onto a clean, slightly damp cutting board or plate. Spread it out evenly and pat it flat with a wet spatula.
Cool and Cut: Let it cool a little, then cut it into small squares or triangles. Let it cool completely until it hardens.
Enjoy!

Οι καλικάντζαροι / ''The goblins''
4TH KINDERGARTEN OF KALAMATA,GREECE
Once upon a time, on the edge of a small village, in a small house lived a mother, Mrs. Leni, with her daughter Filio. It was Christmas Eve and snow had covered the mountains, the plains and the roads and it was difficult to cross them. The air from the surrounding houses smelled of melomakarona, diples and Christmas bread. Mrs. Leni and her daughter had not baked anything for Christmas, because they had been working all day in a mansion. – My Filio, I will go to the mill to grind some wheat. We must make some sweets too, said the mother! – No, mother, you are tired. I will go to the mill, replies Filio. – No, I will not let you, Mrs. Leni tells her. These days, the goblins come out and usually sneak into the mills. In fact, they say that they lie in wait for young girls, to make fun of them and do them harm. – I am not afraid, mother, and I do not believe what is said about the goblins. I will go quickly and return immediately. Come, give me the sack of wheat and bring the donkey so that I can load it. – Well, my daughter, since you insist, go, but be careful of the goblins. If you behave smartly, they will not bother you, because deep down they are a bit stupid. I am going to bring the donkey from the stable. So, Filio loaded the sack of wheat onto the donkey and set off for the mill. From afar she could faintly see the light of the mill, illuminated by a lamp. The mill was visible from afar When she reached the mill, she heard voices and laughter. She thought that other villagers would be inside, wanting to grind their wheat. So she pushed open the door and with surprise and horror saw about five little goblins in front of her. They were ugly, black little people, with bright red eyes, their tongues hanging out, long tails and big ears that were constantly wagging. Filio pulled back to leave, but she didn’t have time. The little goblins quickly jumped up and grabbed her and pulled her inside and started to say to her: – Why are you leaving, pretty one? We’ve been waiting so long for a beautiful girl to appear. What are you doing here? – I came to grind my wheat. – Leave your wheat and come and dance with me. – I want to dance with you, but let me first put the wheat in the mill to be ground, so that I won’t be late. And immediately he threw the wheat into the mill and began to grind. – Come, girl, come and dance! And we will give you silk dresses, gold ornaments, velvet slippers and two chests of dowries from Bursa and Venice. – Well then, we will dance! But first run and bring me all the things you told me and I promise you that we will dance together for endless hours. – Come then, let us run quickly to Bursa and Venice, to bring them to her! Beautiful girl, wait for us! We won't be late. We'll be back in a little while. – Yes, I'll be anxiously waiting for you to come! As the goblins left, they said to each other: – Wow, what a fool she is! She'll eat the wood of her year when we get back! And Filio wondered while she was left alone: – My God! What am I going to do now? I have to grind the wheat quickly and leave, before they catch me here. Quickly, my good mill, grind, so that I can leave, before the goblins return. And the mill ground the wheat and made flour... The wheat was ground, Filio took it and emptied it into her sack and hurriedly loaded the sack onto the donkey and took the road back to the village. When she arrived, she fell terrified into her mother's arms. – Oh, mother, how I was scared by the goblins! – What happened to you, my daughter? – Well, I met the goblins at the mill and they told me to give me gold ornaments, silk dresses, velvet shoes and two chests of dowries from Venice and Prussia, so that I could dance with them. But I didn't believe them. I supposedly told them to go and bring them to me first, so that I could escape them. – You did well, my daughter. Come, get tired by the fire and rest, and I will make the sweets. They had no time to finish their conversation when the doorbell rang and Malamo, the lord's imaginary daughter, appeared on the threshold and said to Filio: - Filio, quickly go to the mill, grind some wheat, because we've run out of flour and we want to make some more sweets. - I can't go. I just got back from the mill and I've had a fright from the goblins, which is not called! - Huh? Did you see the goblins? ... Malamo said mockingly. But Mrs. Leni answered her: - Yes, she saw them and they gave her gold coins, silk dresses, velvet shoes and two trunks of dowries from Broussa and Venice. - And didn't your stupid daughter take them? - No, she didn't take them. - Okay, okay. Then I'll go get them! – You? Well, aren't you afraid of the snowstorm that started? … asked Mrs. Leni with curiosity. – Of course not, I'm brave, I'm not afraid! … said Malamo and hurriedly closed the door, running. Her mind was on the gold ornaments, the silk dresses, the velvet shoes and the two trunks with the dowries from Bursa and Venice. Out of breath, she reached the mill, pushed open the door, went inside and found herself in front of the goblins. – Welcome girl! Come and dance, the goblins told her and she answered them: – In order to dance with you, I first want gold ornaments, silk dresses, velvet shoes and two trunks of dowries from Venice and Bursa. – Of course, of course we will give them to you. We will go and bring them to you immediately, said the goblins and went out. When they returned after a while, they were holding large clubs in their hands and began to beat her. – You want ornaments and silk dresses, eh? You want gold coins? Take them, then, foolish Malamo! Malamo cried out for help, but who would hear her in the middle of the night? Crushed by the beating and fatigue, she returned home. With shame, she told her mother about her adventure. From then on, however, she stopped being imaginative and selfish. And they lived well and we lived better!

In the fairy tale "The Swan Geese" rivers of milk and jelly banks helped the heroes escape their pursuers. Kissel is a traditional Russian dish, often served as a drink. It comes in three consistencies: thick (like the "jelly banks"), which is cooled in a mold and resembles jelly; semi-thick, a hearty dish similar to soup and served warm; and liquid, which is more like a drink or sauce.
