Thanksgiving is a time my family all 

comes together to celebrate and we 

share everything we are thankful for. It 

is also very special to me because I help 

my mom prepare the feast! 

In order to prepare for Thanksgiving, the 

first thing I do is always go to the grocery 

store with my mom to buy the items we 

need.

The store is always so busy with customers. 

As we walk the aisles I can hear the 

chatter of busy shoppers as they check 

items off their lists. 

Shortly after we get home, my mom and I head 

straight to the kitchen to start unpacking the 

food we bought. Before long the kitchen is piled, 

like a castle, filled with vegetables and a large 

turkey ready for us to prepare.

As we begin cooking my mom finds her recipes 

from my grandmother's cookbook, this is always 

a special tradition.
