Have you ever looked up at the night sky and seen countless stars? Do you know what they are?
Each one of those stars is like a sun, many light-years away from Earth! Together, they form beautiful patterns called constellations.

A constellation is a group of stars that form a pattern in the sky. Ancient cultures used constellations as a way to explain the world around them, creating myths and legends about what each constellation represented. Today, scientists call these groups 'official constellations,' and they help us locate stars and planets in the night sky.
Do you know any legend about constellations?

The stars in a constellation are all part of our galaxy, the Milky Way!

The Milky Way is our home galaxy. It looks like a bright, cloudy band of stars across the night sky. This band is actually made up of millions of stars.

What are constellations? Where are they located?
What do you think the constellations were used for?

People used them to navigate across land and sea, tell the changing of the seasons, and know when to plant and harvest crops. For ancient sailors, knowing the constellations was essential to travel safely across oceans.
Let’s explore some of the most famous constellations and the stories behind them.

The Big Dipper (Part of Ursa Major)

Orion, the Hunter

Cassiopeia, the Queen
Is a constellation shaped like a 'W,' represents a queen who was known for her beauty and pride. In the legend, she angered the gods by claiming she was the most beautiful, and as a punishment, she was placed in the night sky on her throne forever.

Can someone guess the name of this constellation? What does
