“When I was your age, the other kids in my school used to always talk about this mysterious book. It was found in the old library. You know, the one in the woods,” Grandma Betty explained to me.
I cut her off, “A book? What made it so mysterious?”
“Ah, that's a great question dear,” She responds. “No one knows what the book is about. That’s because anyone who has dared to read it didn’t live to tell the story.”
“Grandma, thats crazy! No way that happened,” I counter.
A few hours have passed since then, and I tell my friends Sophia and Brooke about the story. “Woah that sounds scary!” Brooke tells me.
“Yeah, but you don’t think that's true, right?” I ask her.
“You don't?” Sophia asks me and I scoff.
“No way. In fact, I”ll go to the library tonight and read it myself. If it even exists, that is. Then, I’ll tell you guys about it tomorrow,” I say, feeling confident.
“I don't know if that's a good idea…” Brooke starts.
“Don’t be a baby! I’ll be fine, you’ll see tomorrow.”
The rest of the day flies by, until it was time to head to the library. I drive to the creepy, abandoned street, and park my car at the end of it.
“Here goes nothing…” I mutter as I get out of my car and start to walk down the road with long, overgrown vines covering the pavement.
