Many years ago, magma came up from under all the rocks in the earth. It made lava, ashes and gasses come out from beneath.   At that moment, Rumba the Volcano was born. 

Did you know that there are close to 1,900 active volcanoes on earth right now? 

What is the news Ms Dunnibee? I wonder if we are going to the Sahara Dessert, said Jax. I think we are going to the Aquarium, said Jane. 

 You may have heard this already but we are going to see Rumba said Ms. Dunbee. Rumba is the great and mighty volcano here in Washington. 

Where's the Volcano, said Jane.  

 We have to walk up this small hill to see it, but I promise it will be worth the wait said Ms. Dunbee.  

Alright class,  I need you guys to stay together when we get to the site. Do you alll rembember who your buddies are?  ,

Jax and his whole class slowly started making their way to the volcano. Did you guys know that volcanoes can also be found under the  ocean water!

No, I did not know that, replied Sam. 

When we get there, you guys need to stay on the path. Do not go anywhere that is blocked off by the rope.  

At last, the class finally arrived at the place  to see the volcano. They  stood in awe at the big black and brown mountain that was waiting to erupt again.  

" Oh no, that did not sound good", said Jax. 

Who could be making that noise, said Jane as she panicked. 

It's Rumba shouted Sam,  he is Alive.  

He is really alive Sam, I cannot believe it said Jax. 

Hello, can you hear me?  I am Rumba. You may know me as the strong and mighty volcano. I first erupted 10,000 years ago and now I sit here for people to see. 

.Do not worry, said Rumba. I promise I will not harm you.  When I do erupt, you will be far enough away from the hot lava.  Goodbye now and thank you for making me feel less alone today.  I hope you learned something marvelous  about volcanoes today 

Rumba told the class," Volcanoes are caused by hot rock known as magma that gets released by pressure in the layers of the earth's core. Volcanoes are the little mountains that release this magma.  After the  magma comes up, I errupt and let out bright orange lava causing a mighty splash and  a big rumble.  

Jax and Jane started walking with their class back to the bus. 

 I guess volcanoes are not that scary, said Jane. 

I knew you would love it, said Jack. There really are so many interesting things we can explore. . We see oceans,  rainforests,  animals and even volcanoes. 

 Jane, just rememeber to be strong and courgaeous because God is with you  whereever you go. Rumba is just a volcano and he may looks scary but God created him too.  I am glad we gave Rumba a chance to show us that not all mighty things are scary said Jax.
