Neanderthals, Homo sapiens, and Denisovans was responsible for the cave art

Cave art is a collection of paintings, engravings,  and portable sculptures found in caves and shelters.

There were three main themes:

Animals

Human figures

Symbols. 

Animals reflect what these people saw in there environment but they may not represent what they ate. 

Human figures were rare in cave art. There’s only one complete human figure in the shaft scene. Handprints are more common. Artist combined human and animal traits.
