Elif, when she woke up in the morning, she noticed that her nose was blocked. It was getting hard to breathe through her nose and her mother realized that she couldn't smell anything. "Look, try to smell this flower," her mother said. But Elif couldn't smell it. "My nose doesn't work at all!" she said sadly. 

Her mother prepared some hot herbal tea for Elif. "This is good for your throat and can strengthen your sense of taste," she said. Elif tasted the lemon and honey tea. "Hmm! It's sweet and sour. I can taste it even though my nose is stuffy!"

Elif caressed her cat, Minnoş. Minnoş's soft fur tickled Elif's hands. "Minnoş's warmth comforts me," Elif thought. 

While Elif was resting in her bed, her mother brought her a storybook. She saw the colorful pictures in the book and said, "This book looks great!" She discovered the details in the story with her eyes. 

Her mother played some soft music for Elif and said, "Listen, this music will relax you." Elif heard the melodies and said, "My ears are still working! What beautiful music!" and she was happy. 

"All my senses are very important," Elif thought. She realized that even though her nose could not smell, her sense of taste worked, she could relax by touching, she could see with her eyes and listen to music with her ears. 

The next day, Elif started to feel better. Her nose cleared a little more and her mother gave her hot soup. "Thanks to my senses, I realize that I am on the road to recovery." 

"I can smell a beautiful chocolate cake with my nose, feel the warmth of my cat, hear my mother's voice reading a beautiful story, taste the flavor of my mother's hot soup, and when I look in the mirror I can see with my eyes that I am healed."
