On the day of the event, Tom felt a mix of excitement and nerves. His parents were there, cheering him on, and he wanted to make them proud. The first event was the 100-meter dash. Tom lined up at the starting line, heart pounding. When the whistle blew, he ran as fast as he could, feeling the wind rush past him. He crossed the finish line in second place, a smile spreading across his face.

Next was the long jump. Tom took a deep breath and sprinted towards the line, jumping as far as he could. He landed in the sand pit with a thud, but when he looked up, he saw he had jumped the farthest. He was in first place!
