Whoosh! Went the wind as it blew through the trees above. As me and my friends were walking through the jungle, Milly started to complain.
"Argh! There's so much mud!" She had only walked through the tinniest bit of mud.
"Quit complaining," I said in annoyance trying to watch where I step.

Argh!!!
"Wow an iguana," exclaimed Angel with an amazed look. As I stared beyond the path, I saw two statues in the distance.
"Girls, look at those statues," I cried in excitement. But they weren't listening, so I ran ahead to have a closer look.
"Hey Julia, wait for us!" Shouted Angel trying to catch up to me.
When I got to the statues, they looked like jaguars in a fighting position. I guessed they were made by the Mayans because they were made of stone and bits of them were broken.
"Woah," whispered Angel when she arrived next to me.
"Hey, what's going, ahh," Milly screamed as she tripped over a log.

Crash! Milly had fell onto the ground. Grumble grumble grumble! The sound was coming from underneath us.
"What's that noise?" Shivered Milly, the sound grew louder and louder, until. Crack! The ground collapsed underneath us,
"Ahhhhhhh!" We all shouted as we fell though the ground.

Ahhhhhh
"Ouch," I whined as I landed on the ground,
"Where are we?" Milly asked while she got off the ground.
"I think we're in some kind of cave," I replied being surprised.
It's a dried-up cenote!" Angel cried excitedly just as she tasted a puddle of water. "See this puddle is fresh water and there's catfish bones all over the place."
"So," I replied confused,
"Catfish live in cenotes!" Milly shouted unexpectedly. No one knew that Milly knew so much about cenotes, so me and Angel we surprised.
"Hey look, a map," I screamed, and the others came running over.
"It looks like a treasure map!" Said Milly,
"At least she's not complaining anymore," I secretly mumbled to myself.
"Where was it Julia?" Angel asked,
"It was underneath the rock right next to the jaguar statue!" I answered, then I realised the statue look like the ones we saw before we fell down the hole.

"Do you think we should follow the trail on it?" I questioned, waiting for them to answer.
"Yes!" Replied Angel and we both hugged and jumped together. Then Milly angrily answered,
"Argh! Fine," so we walked along the rocks following the maps trail. A couple hours later, I heard something,
"Hey girls, do you hear anything?" I asked trying to listen very carefully,
"I don't hear anything," answered Angel wondering what I heard,
"Me neither," Milly responded until we all heard a splash,
"WATER!" we yelled so loud our echoes seemed to be louder. As we arrived to the edge of the water, Angel corrected,
"Well, I guess this isn't a dried-up cenote,"
"Girls look. There's some kind of writing here! I declared, "Look the writing has, answer
this correctly and your problem will be solved. But the rest is in a different language."
"Well does anyone know how to speak Spanish?" Angel questioned. I hoped at least someone knew how to speak Spanish because I didn't, and flotar was pretty hard to guess.
"Float, flotar is float in Spanish. So we need to find something to float on!" Milly explained, "Luckily I brought these!" Milly had brought floaties with her.
"Why did you bring those?" I asked surprised she could fit deflated floaties in her pocket.
"I brought them just in case we went swimming!" Milly exclaimed just after she put one breath in a floaty.

While we floated along the cenote, the caves colour changed from a brownish orange to a light grey. The water was as fresh as a cloud. I didn't even have to steer the floaty that I was sitting on, until there was two ways to go.
"Which way should we go Julia?" Questioned Milly, "Left or right,"
"It doesn't say left or right! It says to keep going straight." I said making sure I read the map correctly.
"Let me see," Angel replied taking the map out of my hands,
"Your correct!" She answered, looking at the map confused.
"So, how are we supposed to go through the wall?" Questioned Milly.
"I guess we walk through it," I responded, hoping it would work
"Okay. Let's try it!" Exclaimed Angel excitedly.
"But what is it doesn't work? What will we do?" I thought to myself starting to get worried.

So we deflated our floaties, got on the little hill and stopped in front of the rocky wall.
"Okay on three. One," Angel had started to count, while I was thinking,
"I hope this works!"
"Two, three," Angel finished and we ran into the wall.
"It worked!" I screamed excitedly,
"But we're back in the jungle. How did this happen?" Milly questioned looking up at the trees

One, two, three
"I don't know," answered Angel, looking at the trees. Then I felt a breeze fly over my head, then I saw a rocky path not too far away,
"Milly, Angel! Look a path!" I shouted with glee. I looked at the map to see if it was the right direction, "The map even says to go there!" I yelled to them as they ran over. So, I started to sprint to the path.

When I got to the path, I stared dead ahead, trying to see what was at the end, but nothing was in sight. All I could see was fog along the path.
"Come on, lets walk," Angel said with a smile, so we followed Angel. A couple hours later the path disappeared,
"Alright Julia," yelled Milly from behind, "Where does the map show us to go next?" But there was one problem, the map didn't show another path, it showed a instead.
"The map shows a right here,"

"Are you sure Julia? Let me see," Angel said in a pushy voice.
"Why does she always think she's correct?" I thought while Angel was looking at the map,
"Wh, WHAT!" Angel shouted so loudly, that it echoed all over the jungle, "THERE IS NOTHING HERE!" I could tell Angel was getting madder by the minute.
"Angel, you need to calm down. Just because there's nothing here, it doesn't mean something isn't hidden." Encouraged Milly so Angel would cheer up.

It's okay Angel
While Angel was calming down, I saw two jaguar statues, in the same fighting positions like the ones we saw earlier,
"Girls," I shouted, "Look, jaguar statues like the ones we saw before we fell down the hole."
"They are the same," Angel squealed,
"Come on, let's see if there's anything there," Milly declared as we all started to run. Finally, we got to the statues.
"Okay, lets spread out. If you find anything scream as loud as you can," I told them. Then we split up to different spots around the statues. It had been two hours, and we hadn't found anything, until I saw lever right under a leaf. When I was about to scream, I heard
"AHHHHHHHH!" Coming from where Milly was, then another one,
"AHHHHHHHH!" From where Angel was. So, I screamed as well and started to run to the jaguar statues.
"Girls I saw a lever!" I shouted with excitement,
"Me too," replied Milly,
"Same here," Angel answered excitedly. "Let's try pulling them all at the same time, and see what happens," Angel told us,
"I think that's a great idea," I replied. So, we went to where the levers were. I shouted as loud as I could,
"Okay, three, two, one!" and we all pulled the levers. Then all of a sudden, a Mayan temple came shooting out of the ground right in front of the jaguar statues.
"How has the Mayan temple not become a ruin?" Angel asked looking super surprised,
"It's probably because it has been underground for all those years," I replied.
"I think the treasure's inside of the temple," Milly said excitedly as we raced to the top of the steps. About 20 steps of racing, I started to get tried and I wasn't the only one.
"These steps are pretty steep," panted Angel as she started to slow down,
"Yeah. There's like one hundred steps," Milly complained, she definitely was overexaggerating.

When we got to the top, I saw that the entrance was pretty short.
"Come on girls, let's go in," I said bravely as we entered the temple. In about a minute, it was pitch black, I couldn't see a thing until a fire was lit!
"Who lit that fire," I said a little bit afraid,
"Not me!" Milly and Angel yelled, their voices echoed all over the place.
"If none of us did it, then who did?" Angel questioned, we were all afraid. Then I heard screams,
"Ahhhhh!" Milly and Angel screamed, and they were gone!
