This book explores different weather patterns throughout the year. The content also teaches young children how to interpret the typical weather in each season. After learning each season, students can write their findings in a table graph, comparing and contrasting the information they gathered.
This book is intended for third-grade students.

What's the season?
Brr! It's cold outside today. Everyone is bundled up in coats, scarves, hats, and boots. When I breathe, I see mist. I also see this white, powdery stuff on the ground. When I touch it, it's cold, too! I hear a crunching noise. What could that be? The white stuff crunches under my boot when I step on the ground! Which season is it?
It's winter!
Based on what we've seen, it is winter! Winter is the season from December through March. In winter, there is usually white, powdery stuff on the ground called snow. It is also very cold. That's why you see mist when you breathe outside! Make sure to wear warm clothes so you don't get cold, too!
Wait... If this isn't winter weather, then what weather is this?
It's warmer outside today. The flowers in the garden are starting to bloom, and the sun is shining. The animals are coming out! But wait, it's starting to rain! I'd better get my raincoat, rain boots, and umbrella! Which season is it?
It's spring!
Based on what we've seen, it's spring! Spring is the season that runs from March through May. Have you heard the term "April showers bring May flowers?" In spring, rain is a weather pattern you will see the most. In early spring, it is still cold outside, like winter. However, it will warm up outside later on!
The season is changing! Which season is this?
It is hot outside now, and I'm all sweaty! Everybody swims in bathing suits or wears shorts and a T-shirt. I have to put on sunscreen when I go outside, too! When I touch the sand in the sandbox, it's hot! Ouch! Sometimes, it even thunderstorms! Which season is this?
It's summer!
Based on what we've seen here, summer is here! This season runs from June through August. During summer, it is very hot and sunny. People often go on vacations during this time since the weather is so lovely! They also put on sunscreen to prevent their skin from burning.
Well, if this season isn't winter, spring, or summer,
which season is this one?
Wow! Big things are happening here! It is starting to get a little chilly outside now. The leaves on the trees are changing colors, like orange, red, yellow, and brown. There are even pumpkins growing! It is a little windy outside, too, and it just rained. Which season is this?
It's fall!
Based on what we've seen this season, it is fall! This season runs from September through November. During fall, the weather is windy and rainy. The temperature starts warmer but then becomes cooler as the season goes on. How cool!
