NEMRUT DAĞI/NEMRUT MOUNTAIN

Mount Nemrut is both a volcanic mountain, a natural monument, and a man-made historical site. For this reason, it has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1987. Standing at an altitude of 2,150 meters, the mountain was adorned with colossal, mysterious statues by the Kingdom of Commagene in the 1st century BC.

The legend of Mount Nemrut is shaped by King Antiochos' desire for immortality and the punishment of the tyrant Nemrut, making it a mystical place.

Located 2 km from Denizli, this area is also famous for its healing waters believed to be good for a wide variety of ailments.

Calcite-laden waters from hot springs, emerging from a cliff almost 200 metres high overlooking the plain, have created a visually stunning landscape at Pamukkale.

HİERAPOLİS

The ancient city of Hierapolis, located 18 km north of Denizli Province, was founded by Eumenes II, one of the Kings of Pergamum, in the 2nd century BC, and it can be said that it took the name Hierapolis from Hiera, the wife of Telephos, the legendary founder of Pergamon.

Apart from this, the main structures of the city are; Bath-Basilica, Latrina, Theatre, Plutonium, Temple of Apollo, Water Channels and Nymphaeums, Churches (St. Philip Martyrium, St. Philip Church..) and the Great Bath Complex.
