Disaster Plan: Safety For All

Natural disasters
A natural disaster is a very harmful impact
on a society or community after a natural hazard event.
Some examples of natural hazard events include avalanches, droughts, earthquakes, floods, heat waves, landslides - including submarine landslides, tropical cyclones, volcanic activity and wildfires. Additional natural hazards include
blizzards, dust storms, firestorms, hails,
ice storms, sinkholes.

Man-Made Disasters

Industrial Accidents – Chemical spills, factory explosions, or oil spills can have catastrophic consequences for both nature and people.
Not all disasters come from nature – sometimes, they are caused by humans. Technological advancements and industry bring many benefits, but they also pose risks if not properly managed.
Nuclear Disasters – The Chernobyl and Fukushima accidents have shown how dangerous radioactive contamination can be.
Transportation Accidents – Train crashes, airplane disasters, or oil tanker spills can lead to severe environmental problems.
Wars and Terrorism – Military operations and terrorist attacks can cause mass destruction and long-term fear.
To prevent these disasters, we must handle technology responsibly, follow safety regulations, and protect the environment!

4. Evacuation & Shelter Plan: Designate safe exits, assembly points, and shelter areas.
5. Emergency Supplies: Ensure first aid kits, food, water, and essential supplies are accessible.
6. Drills & Training: Conduct regular emergency drills and educate students on safety procedures.

SAFE EVACUATION METHODS
1. If the fire is small and you can extinguish it, try to do so. If the fire is already large or spreading fast, leave the area immediately.
2. Immediately call 193 or 112 and clearly state where the fire is, what is burning and if there are people in danger.
3. If the area is filled with smoke, crawl on the floor.
4.Do not use elevators.
5. If you cannot exit, close yourself in a room, block gaps with wet cloths and signal for help through the window.
6.Use a fire extinguisher if you have one and know how to operate it.
7. Go outside if you have a clear path and wait for firefighters to arrive.
