It was a rainy day in Kitlandia, and Joe stepped outside with Blue. The sky was covered in thick, gray clouds, and raindrops splattered against their path as they walked.
"I was really looking forward to visiting Farmer Fluff's farm today," Joe sighed, watching puddles form beneath his shoes. "I just wish it wasn’t raining."
Blue had an idea. She wagged her tail and let out an excited "Bow bow!"
Joe immediately understood. "You think we should sing a song to make the sun come out?"
Blue nodded eagerly, and together they began to sing:
"Oh Mister Sun, Sun, Hello Mister Sun,
Please shine down on me.
Oh Mister Sun, Sun, Hello Mister Sun,
Please shine down on me!"
Like magic, the clouds slowly began to part, revealing the bright, warm sun. Golden rays stretched across the sky, and a beautiful rainbow appeared.
"Wow, Blue! It worked!" Joe cheered. "That was amazing!"
With the sun shining once more, Joe and Blue happily walked toward Farmer Fluff’s Colorful Farm. When they arrived, they saw Farmer Fluff, a cheerful old farmer with a big straw hat and overalls, waving to them from the barnyard.
"Hello there, Joe! Hello, Blue! Welcome to my farm!" Farmer Fluff greeted them warmly.
"Hi, Farmer Fluff! We’ve been looking forward to seeing all your animals," Joe said. "We started with a little rain, but now it’s a beautiful day!"
"It sure is," Farmer Fluff chuckled. "Why don’t you start by visiting the horses?"
Excited, Joe and Blue ran over to the horse pen. The horses were grazing peacefully, their tails swishing in the breeze.
"I know that horses say ‘neigh!’" Joe said proudly. "Let’s sing to them!"
Together, they sang:
"Oh Miss Horse, Horse, Hello Miss Horse,
Please will you neigh for me?"
Suddenly, in a flash of light, the horses turned green!
Joe’s eyes widened in shock. "Whoa! Blue, did you see that? The horses are green!"
Blue let out a surprised "Bow bow!"
"This is really weird," Joe said. "Let’s check on the cows next."
They hurried over to the cow pasture, where the cows were lazily chewing their cud.
"Cows say ‘moo’!" Joe said. "Let’s see if we can sing to them too!"
"Oh Miss Cow, Cow, Hello Miss Cow,
Please will you moo for me?"
In another bright flash—the cows turned purple!
Joe spun around in disbelief. "What?! Now the cows are purple?!"
Blue tilted her head in confusion.
Joe scratched his head. "First the horses turned green, now the cows are purple… What about the pigs?"
They rushed over to the pigpen, but before they could even sing, they saw that the pigs were already yellow!
"This is getting out of hand!" Joe exclaimed. "Come on, Blue! We need to figure out what’s going on before everything on this farm changes color!"
They ran to the sheep pasture and found that, unlike the other animals, the sheep were still their normal fluffy white color.
"Hmm…" Joe thought for a moment. "Maybe if we disguise ourselves as sheep, we can find out what’s happening!"
Joe and Blue quickly wrapped themselves in fluffy wool disguises.
